MAHATMA GANDHI

Mahatma Gandhi will be remembered for centuries like Christ, Buddha, Mohammad and Mahavir. we were studying in the school when we were influenced by Gandhi in Rajkot. His extended family was living there and they contributed a lot in spreading Gandhism. We joined the movement and started to learn spinning and wore Khadi. They started the classes for Hindi as additional language which ultimately became National Language.

The Gandhi's greatest contribution is in the emancipation of women. In those days women treated like subordinates. It was he who preached for the education of women which brought great impact on the society. Women started taking part in the freedom movement. It also produced great leader later on.

In a short span people have realised that by following his principles of nonviolence and tolerance will make this world a better place to bringing up children.

Individually I believe that all of us can contribute a lot for ourselves and society if we are amenable to Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy. Besides that the simple words of Bhajan 'vaishnav jan to tene kahiye' should be followed in our daily life literally. It will also make 0ur life worth living.

Gandhi's principles of self reliance, simplicity, discipline, and courage of conviction are difficult to follow, but once a some one makes it habit then one's life Will become automatically smooth.
